Inquiry Play Term 2 – A Real Steal

Task description: Malo e lelei, Talofa lava, Kia ora, Kia orana, Bula vinaka and greeting to you all. The theme for the term is Transformers. Team 5 had to perform a play in our inquiry classes and in my group , my character was the thief. The name of my play was A Real Steal. The other students that were in my group were Tumoe, Mama’D, Kensi and Hailey. I wore a black mask and the rest of my group wore, necklaces , wigs, hats and mustaches. While we were performing I felt multiple emotions. I felt nervous and stressed but I mostly felt excited to finally get it over and done with. I think my group and I did well but I think I could’ve improved in talking louder and putting more expressions into my lines.

Figurative language.

Kia ora today for literacy me and my class did a task called Figurative language. For this task, there were 5 slides, the first 4 slide were about Similes, metaphors, personifications and hyperboles. On the last slide we had to write something about a image using a simile , metaphor , personification and hyperbole. Please check out my work and leave a positive comment if you want to, thank you.

Year 8 Leadership Camp Highlights.

Malo e lelei, Talofa lava , Kia ora and greetings to you all. Last week, the year 8’s went to a leadership camp out of Auckland. It was called Kauaeranga valley christian camp and the camp was for all the year 8’s to step up, be leaders and make a difference.

When we arrived on the first day of camp it looked concerning but when we went inside, we met Shane and he told us all about the exciting and enjoyable activities that we were going to do . Shane was one of the camp owners and he introduced himself along with all the other helpers.

On the second day of camp me and my group (Waikato A) did 4 more rotations. The rotations we did were archery, gym games, paintball and BMX bikes with the jiggers. The rotation that I found exciting was the BMX bikes with the jiggers because it was a challenge for me and my group to make the jiggers go forward instead of backwards.

On the last day of camp, it was pack up time! All of the cabins had to start packing up and getting ready because it was time for our final rotation. My group and I had Go carts and axe throwing for our last rotation. I was really entertained by the axe throwing because it was really challenging trying to get the axe to stay on the wood.

Some of my highlights for the camp was getting to know my group better by talking to them and my other highlight was me trying to step up and show more confidence.

Ordering fractions.

Kia ora, today for maths, room one did a maths task called, ordering fractions. We had to order the fractions and order them from smallest to largest. For the last slide we had to put the fractions together and figure out what one was the biggest and if they were the same then we had to put =.

Please check out my Google slide and leave a positive comment, thank you.

Immersion assembly recount.

 Immersion assembly recount.

This morning, teams 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 all went to the hall to represent their items/shows for this term’s theme called “Transformers”. Team 5’s item was basically about Cinderella. It was a drama show and there were different scenes with the protagonist and the other characters played by multiple teachers.

My highlight from the assembly was when the prince chopped off the step sister’s heads.
